The Calder Divide Trail 2026 is the fifth edition of a self‑supported bikepacking event run in aid of Overgate Hospice. Based at Mytholmroyd Community Centre (the event hub), the CDT offers four GPX‑guided routes to choose from on the day, with two routes optimised for gravel bikes and two for mountain bikes. Riders sign on at the Community Centre on Saturday morning and may depart within the posted start window; the event is explicitly described as a personal challenge rather than a race.
The event emphasizes navigation skills and self‑sufficiency: there are no permanent route signs on moors or valleys and all routes are followed using GPX files provided to participants. On‑site facilities include changing rooms, showers, toilets, a large free car park close to the train station, a midway camping village with basic facilities and a barn lock‑up, catering (tea/coffee and pie & peas), campsite and luggage transfer options, and finishers receive a cloth badge, a completion certificate for Overgate Hospice and an A5 poster. Organisers reserve the right to alter routes for safety and will notify signed‑up participants of any changes; sign‑on, route choice and GPX support are detailed on the official event pages.
