The Butcombe Trail Ultra is a self‑navigated ultramarathon held on Saturday 25 April 2026 that offers two distances—50 Miles and 50 Kilometres—running from the Mendip Activity Centre in Churchill. The route takes competitors across off‑road trails in the Mendip Hills and is routed anti‑clockwise from the race HQ, showcasing rural scenery and local landmarks. The race is organised by Town & Country Harriers (TACH) with proceeds benefitting the Mendip Hills Fund, emphasising community stewardship and landscape conservation.
The event is UTMB Index recognised for both distances and includes new prize categories for 2026 alongside standard ultramarathon rules on navigation and mandatory kit. Race policies explicitly discourage headphone use at checkpoints, permit one pacer from the final checkpoint, and offer pregnancy refunds and free entry for registered guide runners. Entries open 8 June 2025 and close 11 April 2026, with online registration via SiEntries and further policy documents available through the entry platform.
