Promenade, Blackpool, Lancashire, United Kingdom
Blackpool Festival of Running 2026 is a two‑day running festival held on Blackpool's seafront promenade, combining community spirit with fast, flat courses aimed at a wide range of runners. The weekend comprises multiple distances across Saturday and Sunday, including 2K, 5K and 10K on the first day and the Half Marathon and Marathon on the second day. The festival brand is presented by the event team working with Fylde Coast Runners and highlights finisher medals for all events and commemorative technical T‑shirts for Half and Marathon finishers.
The Marathon page describes a two‑lap, traffic‑free seafront circuit with chip timing, bottled water stations approximately every three miles, regular toilets and full medical support; a seven‑hour time limit is enforced for the Marathon due to the road closure order. All races are promoted as having staggered start times across the weekend to manage field sizes and athlete flow. The event is positioned as a family‑friendly seaside festival with flat, PB‑friendly routes and festival‑style finish arrangements for runners of differing abilities.
