Trail du Besso is a high‑alpine endurance trail held around Zinal in the Val d'Anniviers, famously described on the organiser site as «Au coeur des cinq 4000». The route threads historic alpine paths and links five mountain huts, traversing glaciers and multiple passes above 3000 m to deliver sustained, technical climbing and long descents. This edition is presented as an extreme alpine challenge that emphasises navigation, mandatory kit and mountain experience for participants.
The event is run under the Les Trails du Besso brand and uses the MSO platform for entries, live timing and official results. Participants should expect a semi‑self‑sufficient format with kit checks and strict time limits; the parcours is aimed at experienced mountain runners rather than casual trail participants.
