Asparagus Run – Run the Dike (35th Spargellauf Lampertheim)

Spargellauf – Run den Damm (the event name appears in German as "Spargellauf – Run den Damm") returns for its 35th edition on the Altrheindamm and culminates in the Adam-Günderoth-Stadion. The event is a popular Volkslauf that connects generations of participants, from young runners to ambitious half-marathon athletes, and is presented by Turnverein 1883 Lampertheim e.V. The course follows a proven riverside circuit and finishes with a stadium entry that creates a lively atmosphere for runners and spectators alike.

The 10 km road race is the primary competition and serves as the 2026 district championship (Kreismeisterschaft) for Kreis Bergstraße, with about 1.5K participants expected. After racing there is a large finisher celebration including a live DJ, prize-giving ceremony and food and drink services, creating an event that continues long after the finish line. The organiser emphasises tradition and community, making the race both a competitive outing and a festival-style local highlight.
