Marathon‑Campus / Start/Finish area: Am Sportforum (Jahnallee 59), 04109 Leipzig, Germany
The 48. LEIPZIG MARATHON 2026 brings a classic city road race to the heart of Leipzig with an AIMS/DLV-certified, Boston-qualifying course and a vibrant Marathon‑Campus race village around the Start/Finish on Am Sportforum (Jahnallee). Runners can choose the full marathon (42.195 km), half marathon, 10 km and 4 km events alongside the Stadtwerke‑Schülermarathon and the Stadtwerke‑Kinderlauf (children's run). The weekend is promoted as a city festival with Marathon‑Campus expo and participant services (packet pickup, secure bag drop, changing and showers), pacer teams, official chip timing integrated in bibs, on‑course medical support, clear kilometre signage, frequent feed and water stations, nutrition-drop options for marathoners, professional photography and free MDV public transport with a valid bib.
Detailed participant information (Ausschreibung/Teilnehmerinfos), course maps with elevation profiles and GPX downloads, start lists and phased registration details are published by the organisers. The 2026 edition highlights event partners and features a special commemorative finisher medal and an official event shirt celebrating the Zentralstadion anniversary. Packet pickup, the expo, bag drop, changing and showers are provided at the Marathon‑Campus (Jahnallee / Am Sportforum). Marathon start is scheduled for 09:30 with the half marathon at 12:15.
Organised by Stadtsportbund Leipzig e.V. in cooperation with Leipziger Marathon Verein (event operations supported by WICTORY GmbH), the organisers coordinate partners, participant guidance and logistics. The event attracts thousands of runners (and hundreds of inline skaters) from the region and beyond and continues the modern race tradition since 1977 (with historical roots back to 1897).
