The 24. SPREEWALD‑MARATHON is a four-day multi‑sport festival taking place across Burg, Lübbenau and Straupitz in Brandenburg from 16 to 19 April 2026. The programme spans running, inline skating, cycling, paddling, stand‑up paddling, walking and hiking, plus Run & Bike and popular night runs, spread over numerous routes and start locations. A signature highlight is the heavy cast‑iron cucumber medal for participants, with special edition colours and new boat medals for paddling and SUP announced for 2026. With a large volunteer operation and lively finish zones, the event blends competition with regional culture and food.
Key participation policies include a complete ban on headphones on all routes, no dogs in start, finish or registration areas and on course, and no on‑site category changes during the weekend. Start numbers must be collected in the town where the booked distance starts, and the organisers advise arriving 2.5 to 3 hours before start to avoid queues. Overall winners receive exclusive trophies, with additional age‑group awards in select disciplines. Due to bridge works in Lübbenau expected to run through 2027, cycling starts there are relocated to the Spreeweltenbad car park. Full route maps, per‑race schedules and 2026 pickup times are published by the organiser in the lead‑up to the weekend.
