Nibelungenlauf‑Arena / Platz am Rheinufer, near Hagendenkmal and Kriemhilds Rosengarten, Worms
The 23. Wormser Nibelungenlauf (Nibelungenlauf) is a weekend running festival held on the Rhine promenade in Worms, presented under the event branding “Sport & Kultur in Worms”. The event takes place on 12 and 13 September 2026 with a programme of community and cultural activities on Saturday and the main races on Sunday, finishing with the prize giving at the Hagendenkmal near Kriemhilds Rosengarten. The course is staged from the newly laid-out Platz am Rheinufer in the Nibelungenlauf-Arena and passes local landmarks including the Hagendenkmal, Nibelungenbrücke and the Wormser Stadtwald.
The race weekend features three colour‑coded turnpoint courses – a DLV‑measured half marathon (blue), a 10 km course (red) and 5 km routes (green) – plus family and children’s events under the motto “Jeder ist ein Gewinner”. The event offers organised timing with transponder chip in the race number, finishers’ shirts included in the entry fee and a lively spectator atmosphere as part of the Sport & Kultur programme. Entrants are referred to the official Ausschreibung and Anmelden pages for full rules, start times, deadlines and detailed race information.
