17th Leipzig Winter Marathon

The 17. LEIPZIGER WINTERMARATHON is a distinctive team running event in Leipzig, bringing three-person teams together to tackle a winter challenge on a looped course through Clara‑Zetkin‑Park. All three runners stay together, sharing the effort and crossing the finish line as one, with a choice between the full team marathon classification and a team half‑marathon classification reached mid‑race. The event starts at 10:00 and operates on a compact, park-based route using firm pathways, creating a sociable, supportive atmosphere. With the field capped at 100 teams overall, the experience remains friendly and well-managed.

Participants benefit from thoughtful services at the start/finish area, including guarded bag storage, nearby changing rooms and showers, and a free post‑race massage. Aid stations provide warming drinks and snacks such as oat porridge, broth, fruit, chocolate, biscuits and cake, while all finishers receive a medal and finishing teams are celebrated with a finisher cake. Awards recognise the top three teams in men’s, women’s and mixed categories, and there is a special Ü150 classification. The organiser notes a 5:30 time limit with course closure at 15:30, and as a provisional announcement, some details may be updated closer to race day.
