The DGCH Organspendelauf (DGCH Organ Donation Run) is presented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Chirurgie as an awareness and charity event connected to the DCK 2026 congress. The 2026 edition is run as a hybrid event with a virtual participation window from 21–26 April and an in-person Präsenzlauf in Leipzig on 23 April 2026. The event explicitly supports organisations in the field of organ transplantation, with portions of the entry fees donated to charitable beneficiaries.
Distances offered include 2.5 km, 5 km and 10 km with options for running and walking, and the in-person races take place around a 2.5 km loop in Clara‑Zetkin‑Park, Leipzig. Virtual participants can complete their distance via the event app, receive downloadable certificates and may choose to order the official event T-shirt, while in-person registrants may receive personalised start numbers if registered by the stated deadline. The event is promoted in partnership with local organisers and agencies and features a range of sponsors supporting the charity-focused programme.
