16th Tangermünder Elbdeichmarathon

The 16. Tangermünder Elbdeichmarathon is the official edition of the regional road-running festival held in Tangermünde on 12 April 2026. The event centres on the Tangermünder Hafen start/finish and presents a range of distances from a full marathon to childrens races, running largely along the Elbe river through the local Elbauen landscape. The route passes close to and through protected areas of the Elbe Biosphere Reserve, offering scenic river views and largely asphalt surfaces for competitors.

Race day features staggered starts with the marathon beginning at 10:00 and shorter distances following in the morning and afternoon; the weekend also includes an opening ceremony, expo and number pickup across the festival days. Services explicitly provided by the organisers include chip timing, aid stations every few kilometres, a secure bag drop with voucher system, showers at the Hafen and medical support along the course. Registration is open on the official site (snapshot shows 1,152 current registrations) and the field is managed with total and discipline caps as published by the organisers.
