The Zittauer Gebirgslauf – Trailrunning (Laufen) is a multi-day mountain running and trail festival centred on Sportzentrum Olbersdorf, with the main race day on 26 April 2026. The event offers a wide range of distances from short childrens races through demanding ultra distances, and highlights specialist trail terrain through the Zittauer Gebirge. The organiser (Oberlausitzer Kreissportbund) publishes GPX route downloads, detailed route descriptions and checkpoint information to help competitors plan their race day. The programme also includes on-site bib pickup and late registration windows on 24–26 April.
The event emphasises accessibility and community competition, with a dedicated 4 km class explicitly suitable for blind and visually impaired runners with an accompanying guide and a special SachsenEnergie Läufer-Cup scoring mode for cup classification. Award ceremonies (Siegerehrung) and official finish cut-offs are published on the organiser pages, and support points/aid stations are listed on longer routes such as the 17 km course. The festival format combines running and Wandertreff (hiking) activities and caters for beginners through to experienced trail runners, making it suitable for families, clubs and competitive athletes alike. Entrants register online with tiered pricing windows and may take advantage of group discounts for larger teams.
