The Wolfsfährte-Trail in Fürsteneck is a regional trail running event held in the Ilz- and Ohe-valley and organised by DJK Laufwölfe Fürsteneck. The course weaves predominantly along forest roads and footpaths beside the Ilz and Wolfsteiner Ohe, with short sections on asphalt and a number of steep, testing climbs. The mixture of wide forestry tracks, narrow single-track sections and river-side scenery is a defining feature that attracts both competitive and recreational trail runners. The event is confirmed for 6 April 2026 and uses the club sport ground in Fürsteneck as its start and finish hub.
Racing options cater to a wide range of ages and abilities, with a main 10 km event plus shorter children’s distances including a Bambinilauf. Facilities at the Sportgelände include parking, changing and shower rooms, marked kilometres, aid stations on the course and refreshments at the finish, and the organiser provides free event photography and certificates. Age‑group trophies are awarded and the race forms part of the local Landkreis‑ und Sparkassenlaufcup, making it popular with regional clubs. The event emphasises community participation and classic valley trail scenery rather than technical ultra‑distance challenges.
