The Wicklow Way Race 2026 is an overnight point-to-point ultramarathon organised by the Irish Mountain Running Association (IMRA) that follows the Wicklow Way from Clonegal, County Carlow to Marlay Park in Dublin. The route is approximately 127 km with around 3,665 m of ascent and a strict maximum elapsed time of 21 hours, and finishers are allocated 5 ITRA points. The event features a night start and multiple staffed checkpoints with drop-bag support and GPS devices permitted for navigation.
Runners may compete solo or with a crew but no assistance is allowed outside official checkpoints and breaches may lead to disqualification; support runners are permitted under specified conditions and must meet IMRA membership requirements. The race awards Wicklow Way Yellow Person Trophies to the first male and female finishers and provides a granite finisher memento for those completing the full route within the time limit. Entrants should consult the IMRA event page for the definitive athlete kit list (Level C), checkpoint cut-offs and final entry details.
