The Gahanna American Legion Post 797 “Walk In Our Boots” Walk/Run fundraising event was first established in the Spring of 2023 with the inaugural event held Saturday May 3 at Veterans Memorial Park at Creekside. This event is a fundraiser to support once homeless local veterans so they become re-acclimated to a more normal, self-sustaining life with the help of our community. Knowing many of these veterans gave so much during their previous military life our American Legion mission is to support them every step of the way as they regain personal sustainability, re-establish a home and household, and re-enter the workforce overcoming obstacles many of these men and women faced before, during and after living on the streets in Central Ohio.
