The WACHAU TRAIL ® | Wandern, Laufen, Nordic Walking, Welterbesteig Wachau is a multi-distance trail event staged in the UNESCO Wachau region and presented by the Wachau Trail / Trailwelten brand. The event (listed on the official wachautrail.at site) offers options for runners, walkers and Nordic walkers across scenic river-valley trails and vineyard terraces, with a strong community and regional partner focus. Distances range from short 10 km routes to the ultra-distance WACHAU160, emphasising the landscape, local culture and the UNESCO Welterbesteig Wachau experience.
Racing for the 2026 edition is scheduled across 2–3 October 2026, with start locations in Dürnstein, Weißenkirchen, Spitz, Emmersdorf, Aggsbach Dorf and Krems an der Donau and a common finish at Krems Stadtpark (Josef-Wichner-Straße 1). The event website and individual race pages list wave start times, participant briefings, aid station counts and time limits for each distance, and the organiser provides optional Time2Win QR-based timing and downloadable finisher certificates. Participants are advised to consult each distance's information page for mandatory kit, participant caps and shuttle/overnight details prior to travel.
