The VVO Oberelbe-Marathon (OEM) is a scenic multi-distance running event that follows the Elbe River from the Saxon Switzerland area into the heart of Dresden. The 27th edition is scheduled for 26 April 2026 and comprises a full marathon, half marathon, 10 km, 5 km, a 2.7 km Minimarathon and a 400 m Bambinilauf for children. The event is promoted in German on the official site and provides multilingual resources including an English Ausschreibung (race information) and downloadable GPX and route graphics.
Races finish in the Heinz‑Steyer‑Stadion in Dresden, with the marathon starting in Königstein and featuring a unique marathon‑accompanying paddle steamer (Dampferfahrt) for spectators. The organiser publishes detailed start locations, start times and route maps on dedicated Streckenübersicht pages and in the official Ausschreibung PDFs. Support services such as aid stations, transponder timing in the race bib, baggage transport to the finish and an on‑site runner expo are documented by the organiser.
