Prater Hauptallee 121, 1020 Vienna
The Vienna Climate Run is a climate‑focused community running event organised by panSol - Klimaschutz: Energie : Umwelt in cooperation with SOL, staged in Vienna's Prater on 26 September 2026. The in‑person day includes a main run plus a children's Bee Happy Run programme, while a parallel Virtual Climate Run allows participants to join remotely between 16 September 2026 (12:00) and 26 September 2026 (12:00). The event emphasises measurable ecological impact, linking each lap to protected forest or bee meadow area and inviting broad public participation and donations to climate projects. The site and materials are primarily in German with some English captions and descriptions.
The on‑site course uses a 1.5 km loop (with a stated 3 km option) and a 750 m loop for children, and the programme highlights sustainable goodie bags, DJ music, children's activities, a panel discussion, a tombola and prize giving. Per‑lap environmental targets are explicit (1.5 m² protected forest per 1.5 km lap; 15 m² protected bee meadow per 750 m lap) and the organiser sets participation goals (1,500 for the main event; up to 1,000 children for the Bee Happy Run). Entry includes a charitable contribution element (10 EUR donation for the main event; up to 3 EUR for the Virtual Run) tied to social climate protection projects.
