Rathausstraße between Stadtturnhalle and Rathaus, Velten
“Velten läuft …!” is a city run (Velten City Run) organised by the town of Velten in cooperation with Teamwork Sport + Events e.V. The one-day event on 4 October 2026 stages multiple mass-participation distances and youth races on a largely flat city-centre loop with start and finish on Rathausstraße between the Stadtturnhalle and the Rathaus. The programme ranges from a 500 m Bambini run through a 1.4 km pupils' race to 4 km, 8 km and 12 km main races, plus a 3 x 4 km mixed relay, offering competitive and recreational options for all ages.
The event emphasises sustainability and participant services, with a no single‑use cup policy, refill stations provided by VERDURO and medical cover on course. All finishers receive a finisher medal and online result certificates, and electronic chip timing is used for official results. The event follows DLV/EMB cup classifications for age-group and overall prizes and is run in cooperation with local authorities and Teamwork Sport + Events e.V.
