The TorTour de Ruhr® — 10. TTdR (Adieu Edition) is a private, invitation‑only ultramarathon weekend tracing the signposted RuhrtalRadweg from the Ruhr source in Winterberg to the iconic Rheinorange sculpture in Duisburg. Across one weekend, three point‑to‑point races set off at staggered times but share the same finish line, creating a single, unified finish atmosphere on the Rhine. The organisers emphasise that this is explicitly not a public event, with entry possible only by invitation or on recommendation from past TorTour participants. For 2026 they bill the “Adieu Edition” as the last running in this format, marking twenty years and ten editions of the event.
Self‑reliance and a dedicated support crew are central to the experience, with organisers operating a limited number of feeding stations and long unsupported stretches possible. A valid, year‑of‑race medical certificate and a signed liability waiver are mandatory at check‑in, and strict crewing and parking rules apply along sensitive sections of the route and at the final dyke. Electronic timing and official results are provided via Webscorer, with firm cut‑offs; arrivals after the target limits are recorded as DNF even if hardware is handed out on site. The race weekend culminates with an awards ceremony at the Wyndham Duisburger Hof Hotel on Sunday evening.
Entrants receive a distinctive set of event gifts and on‑course support appropriate to their distance, with TTdR230 and TTdR160 finishers eligible for the coveted belt buckle alongside a heavy finisher medal. The TorTour de Ruhr® is listed as a Preferred Qualifying Race for Badwater 135, adding international relevance to its unique river‑path challenge. Logistics include one finish‑bag transport under specific crew rules and a limited shuttle from the Rheinorange finish to the host hotel. As a small, volunteer‑run event, the organisers reserve the right to adapt operational details; participants and crews are asked to act responsibly and follow all guidance.
