The Mendips Classic 2026 is a one-day cycling sportive taking place on Saturday 11 July 2026, based at Strode College Sport Centre in Street, Somerset. Riders can choose from three clearly signposted route options — Long (123 km), Middle (83 km) and Short (59 km) — that explore the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the Long and Middle routes offering views of Cheddar Gorge. The event is organised by UK Cycling Events and is presented as a non-competitive sportive with full on‑road support for participants of differing abilities. The page highlights essential safety requirements and age supervision rules to ensure a well managed ride for all participants.
The event offers practical on‑day amenities including free parking, multiple feed stops, mechanical and medical support, chip timing with online results and event photography, plus a finisher's medal. There is an optional Ride For A Cure charity entry routed via Alzheimer’s Research UK with specific fundraising benefits and an event jersey available to order; online entry closes shortly before the event and limited on‑the‑day entries are available at a higher fee. Routes are fully signed, and organisers provide clear guidance on kit, helmet requirements and recommended items for riders, emphasising safety and an enjoyable scenic experience through the Mendips.
