About
The Hampshire Hoppit marathon and half marathon are both trail races, meaning that they take place mainly off-road. The courses are clearly marked and will feature sections of the famous Wayfarers Walk and Harrow Way (only for the marathon). With the start and end points at Kingsclere on the Hampshire/Berkshire border, the route will take you to some of the highest points in Hampshire with gorgeous views. There will be a few roads to cross, all of which will be marshalled. The races will be held in accordance with UK Athletics regulations. At the end of the race, all participants will receive an engraved glass from the Loddon Brewery filled with the classic ale ‘Hoppit’ (3.9%AV). Non-alcohol drinkers will also get a special medal to commemorate their achievement. There will be prizes given to the first finishers plus age category awards. The marathon has a time limit of 7 hours, and participants who look likely to exceed this time limit at the 14-mile point will be asked to withdraw from the race. There is no time limit for the half marathon.
