Field behind Ingleton Community Centre, Ingleton, LA6 3HG
The Fellsman is a legendary high‑level traverse across the Yorkshire Dales organised by Keighley Scout Service Network. The flagship 62nd edition is presented as a demanding point‑to‑point ultra from Ingleton to Threshfield, covering c.61 miles and climbing over 11,000 feet, with navigation and endurance as core challenges. Entrants follow a strict mandatory kit list, use map and compass as primary navigation (GPX allowed if carried with map and compass), and are supported by volunteer‑staffed checkpoints that provide hot and cold food and beverages.
The event weekend includes extensive participant support such as live tracking, course cut‑offs, transport and accommodation arrangements, and specific dietary accommodations. Check‑in and start procedures are run from Ingleton Community Centre, with a stated check‑in window on the morning and an 08:30 race start; the finish is at Upper Wharfedale High School in Threshfield. The weekend also includes the shorter companion event, the Fellsman Dart, and the organiser publishes rules, kit lists and checkpoint details on the official event pages.
