Event Overview
The D.C. Raymond M Downey "Forever Running" Memorial 5K Run/Walk is an event to honor the memory of Deputy Chief Raymond M. Downey, who died in the line of duty on September 11, 2001. This year marks the 24th anniversary of the event.
Course Description & Map
The course is a 5k (3.1 miles) fast & flat run through Deer Park, passing down D.C. Raymond M. Downey Memorial Rd. The course is USATF certified and sanctioned.
Schedule
Live Run: Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 9:30 AM. Virtual Run: June 15 - June 22, 2025.
Registration & Pricing
Online Live Race fee: $30 (increases to $40 on race day). Virtual Race fee: $30. Paper Application Live Race fee: $40.

What to Bring
Participants should bring their registration confirmation and any necessary identification.
Race Day Info
Registration for the Kids Fun Run is from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM on race day.
Awards & Categories
Plaques will be awarded to the first place 5K winners (male & female) and the top 3 males & females in various age groups.
