Taunus Bikepacking No. 9 (2026) is a self‑supported bikepacking adventure through the Taunus hills north of Frankfurt. The route takes in a varied mix of surfaces including paved lanes, gravel roads, cobblestone alleys and dirt trails, and is presented as a non‑competitive, self‑directed challenge rather than a race. The ninth edition starts on 14 June 2026 with departure at The Eppstein Project, Bezirksstraße 2 in Eppstein, Hesse.
The advertised route is approximately 999 km (commonly described as a 1,000 km route) with a notably challenging elevation profile of about 20 metres of climb per kilometre. The event is limited to 99 riders and uses GPS tracking provided by Follow My Challenge for participant tracking. Riders are expected to be self‑sufficient, using resupply options along the way, and the organiser is Jesko von Werthern.
