Hafen (Harbour), Lindau (Bodensee)
The Sparkasse 3‑Länder‑Marathon is a cross‑border running festival at Lake Constance, bringing athletes together to run through Germany, Austria and Switzerland on a fast, largely lakeside course. Centred around Bregenz with a start in Lindau, it blends sweeping shoreline views with an Alpine panorama and a famously flat profile measured to international standards. A rich weekend programme includes an expo at the Festspielhaus, sightseeing runs, a health symposium and family‑friendly highlights alongside the main races.
On race day the marathon starts in Lindau’s harbour and finishes with an unforgettable run‑in at the stadium in Bregenz. Participants benefit from free local public transport and dedicated ship transfers, while well‑spaced aid stations support pacing across the point‑to‑point route. Chip timing is integrated in the bib, and finish facilities include showers, baggage services and a lively finish village with food and drink.
Beyond the marathon, the schedule features a half marathon, quarter marathon, Nordic walking, a relay marathon and youth and children’s races, creating options for all abilities. The event is a member of AIMS and awards points towards the AWMM Wanda Age Group World Rankings for eligible marathoners. Professional photography and comprehensive results and certificates are provided after the race.
