The SPARKASSE 3-Länder-Marathon is a cross-border road running festival around Lake Constance (Bodensee) that links Germany, Austria and Switzerland and is organised by SEG Sport Event GmbH. Runners experience a largely flat, largely point-to-point marathon course with scenic lakeside and Alpine views that finishes in the stadium at Bregenz and passes notable landmarks such as the Bregenzer Festspiele floating stage. The marathon and other main courses are AIMS-certified and the organiser publishes detailed route maps, measurement certificates, timing and participant information on the official event website.
The race weekend includes multiple formats from the full marathon to a half marathon, quarter marathon, relay options, Nordic walking and a children’s marathon (preceding day). Logistics are a strong selling point: the event starts on Lindau island with boat access to the start, the race number integrates chip timing and the bib acts as a regional public-transport ticket for participants. The festival offers comprehensive on-course refreshment provision, a large finish-area village, spectator-friendly access, downloadable course materials and an online registration portal with detailed rules, registration windows and fee tiers on the official website.
