Schneekopflauf

The Schneekopflauf is a mountain running event held on 04 July 2026 that finishes on the Schneekopf plateau (978 m). The event combines steep, technical trail sections with sustained climbs, offering a challenging experience for hill and trail runners as well as a new organised hike introduced in 2025. The event is presented under the Rennsteiglauf umbrella and attracts participants seeking scenic high‑forest routes and panoramic summit views.

Three options are offered: a 22.2 km XL race, a 12.7 km race and an 11.0 km Schneekopfwanderung (hike), all finishing at the Schneekopf. Races are chip timed and the organisers provide baggage transfer for the runs, medical support and finish‑area facilities.
