Schauinslandkönig 2026 (Schauinslandkönig) is the annual uphill time‑trial to the Schauinsland summit near Freiburg, combining a challenging 11.5 km climb with roughly 800 metres of ascent. The event is run as individual starts from start ramps with precise start blocks through the day, and it welcomes a wide variety of bike types and special categories including tandems, recumbents, handbikes and youth classes. Road closure of the L 124 and dedicated safety measures including mandatory helmets for all participants are central features, while medical support and electronic timing are provided for competitors.
The race weekend includes a pre‑event registration day, free luggage transport to the finish via the Schauinslandbahn and an event village at the finish with food, drinks and an expo atmosphere. Schauinslandkönig also hosts specialist categories such as inline skates and skiroller and this edition includes an Aktionstag Para Radsport in cooperation with the German Disabled Sports Association.
