Event Overview
Run For The Paws 5k and 1 mile run benefits the animals at the Wellington Humane Society. The Wellington Humane Society is a 501(c) non-profit that serves Sumner County, Kansas. We are a no-kill shelter that opened to the public in December 2019. Our mission is to take in unwanted animals and find them loving, permanent homes. We receive no city or county funding and rely solely on donations to care for the animals at our shelter. All proceeds from this run go towards providing food and medical care for those currently living at the shelter while they await their forever home.
Course Description & Map
The 5k will begin at 7:30am and the 1 mile will begin at 8:30am on June 21, 2025. Both races will be held at the Wellington Humane Society, 203 W Hillside. The course will be a mix of road, gravel, and sidewalk.

Packets can be picked up at the Wellington Humane Society on Thursday and Friday, June 19-20th from 3-7pm, or on race day beginning at 6:30am.
Registration & Pricing
5k: $30, 1 Mile: $15, 5k AND 1 Mile: $35. Registration ends June 20, 2025 at 11:59pm CDT.

What to Bring
Participants should bring their registration confirmation and any necessary items for their dogs if they are participating.
Race Day Info
Dogs are welcome to join but must be up to date on vaccinations, non-aggressive, and leashed at all times.
Awards & Categories
Finisher medals will be awarded to all participants and trophies given to the top male and top female in the 5k.

Parking is available at the Wellington Humane Society.
