Riga, Latvia
Rimi Rīgas maratons / Rimi Riga Marathon 2026 is a two‑day running festival in Riga, Latvia, taking place on 16–17 May 2026. The weekend brings together tens of thousands of runners across a full programme that includes the classic Marathon and Half Marathon alongside popular shorter road distances, the DPD Mile (1609 m) and a dedicated Kids’ Day. The event is celebrated as the largest and most international running festival in the Baltics and is presented as a World Athletics Road Race Label meeting.
Race-day activity is centred on the 11 November Embankment (11. novembra krastmala) and courses showcase Riga’s riverside, historic Old Town and iconic bridges on fast, traffic‑free routes suitable for both first-timers and seasoned athletes. The weekend includes an expo (Rimi Olympic Centre) on 15–16 May serving as an on‑site hub for bib pick-up, official merchandise, results and participant services.
The organisers emphasise sustainability and have calculated the event’s CO₂e footprint (a regional first). The programme supports individual and team participation, including relay options over 42 km and 21 km, and links to AbbottWMM Age Group Championships content. Clear schedules and multiple distance options — plus extensive Kids’ Day activities — create a festival atmosphere for runners and supporters.
