RheinEnergie Children's Run Cologne

The RheinEnergie Kinderlauf Köln is a children’s running festival held as part of the Generali Köln Marathon and takes place on 3 October 2026. The event name on the organiser pages is "RheinEnergie Kinderlauf Köln" and the start and finish are located on Roncalliplatz directly in front of the Kölner Dom. The programme offers short distances tailored to children with a participant cap of 1,000 to keep the event family-friendly and well organised.

The Kinderlauf features three race distances (500 m, 1,000 m and 2,000 m) for children born between 2015 and 2021, and the races are run on a marshalled, largely fenced route around the cathedral area. There is no official timing — the event philosophy is participation-first — and medals are handed out at the finish. Registration is online via the Generali Köln Marathon site (fee €9), bib pickup is on race morning and more detailed start allocations are communicated after registration.
