Race to the Stones 2026 is a multi‑distance ultramarathon held along The Ridgeway, the UK’s oldest footpath, with a finish at the Avebury Standing Stones. The event takes place across 11–12 July 2026 and offers a 100K non‑stop option, a 100K over two days (with camping), and two 50K day options (Thames Valley and Ridgeline). The route passes historic landmarks such as Uffington White Horse, Barbury Castle and other heritage sites and is promoted as a fast, runnable 100K with approximately 1,350 metres of elevation gain. Organised by Threshold Sports as part of the Threshold Trail Series, the event blends competitive racing with broad participant accessibility.
Participants receive extensive on‑trail support including fully signposted routes, multiple pit‑stops with real food and drink, chip timing and on‑site medical cover, plus bag transfer to the finish and a Finish Village with hot meals and showers. The event package highlights training plans and partner support, professional photography, optional extras (merchandise, trackers) and charity entry options with reduced fees and fundraising targets. A rolling course‑record prize fund for 2026 is advertised and organisers emphasise wave starts to minimise bottlenecks and comprehensive safety and risk management. Specific start times and detailed wave schedules are not stated on the event pages and should be confirmed at registration.
Start: Field Farm, Shirburn Road, Lewknor, Oxfordshire OX49 5RR. Finish: Avebury (Rutland Farm, SN8 1RH).
