Race for Life Chester 5k is a charity 5 km run and walk held on Sunday 24 May 2026 at Chester Racecourse, organised by Cancer Research UK - Race for Life. The 5 km distance is presented as an achievable challenge for walkers, joggers and runners of all abilities, making it suitable for first-time participants as well as experienced fundraisers. The event supports Cancer Research UK, with every participant helping to raise vital funds for life‑saving research. The atmosphere is designed to be inclusive and supportive rather than competitive, encouraging participants to go at their own pace.
The start and finish are located on the centre field of Chester Racecourse, with supporters welcome to attend and picnic after the event. On-site parking is available until road closures commence, and public transport links serve the venue though timetables may be affected by closures on race day. Practical arrival guidance is provided by the organiser, including a what3words reference for the starting area. Entrants register via the official Cancer Research UK registration page and pay the stated entry fee to secure their place.
