The PB137 Trail Challenge – RANGER ULTRAS is a single-race ultra-distance trail challenge along the Pennine Bridleway, covering 137 km (approximately 85 miles) with about 3,321 metres of ascent. The race runs from Hebden Hey (near Hebden Bridge) to Kirkby Stephen and is organised under a Trail Running Association / England Athletics permit. The event is capped at a small field of entrants to preserve an uncrowded experience and has a generous 50-hour overall cut-off with a 25-hour midway checkpoint deadline. Entrants must be aged 20 or older on race day.
The event package emphasises on-route support and hospitality, including pre-race bunkroom accommodation, an indoor midway checkpoint with hot meals, showers and sleeping space, and a hostel finish with beds, showers and a celebratory meal. GPX files and a comprehensive race briefing are provided to all entrants in advance, and a Ranger safety team provides on-course support; winners receive handcrafted trophies and finishers an eco medal. The organisers publish detailed registration windows, kit-check arrangements and logistics on the official race pages and via the SiEntries registration portal for entrants.
