The Öpfinger Osterlauf is a long‑standing community road running event held in Öpfingen on Holy Saturday, bringing together runners of all ages for a festive Easter celebration. Known locally as "Das Ostererlebnis für die ganze Familie", it blends competitive racing with a welcoming village atmosphere. The start and finish take place in the stadium, with the sports hall hosting post‑race celebrations, creating a convivial setting for participants and supporters alike. With typical fields around or above a thousand entrants, it is a highlight on the local calendar.
The programme traditionally features a Half Marathon, a competitive 10 km road race, a 5.25 km leisure run, youth races under the Junior Cup banner, and a Bambinilauf in the stadium. Younger children enjoy a lap alongside the Easter Bunny, and Bambini finishers receive a medal to mark their achievement. Pre‑registration is offered, with on‑the‑day entries available, and an optional high‑quality technical shirt can be ordered in advance with limited on‑site sales. The organisers emphasise fair play and community spirit, noting their commitment to transparent communication, such as their 2025 statement regarding course irregularities in the leisure run.
