Morcote Scal is the fourth edition of the uphill stair race held in Morcote, Ticino. The event is scheduled for Saturday 2 May 2026 and runs from about 13:30 to 18:00 along the monumental stairway from Piazza Granda to the Church of Santa Maria del Sasso. The format is a non-timed, elimination-style competition over 420 steps that emphasises direct head-to-head racing and spectacle in a historic lakeside setting.
The 2026 edition introduces KidScal for children aged 9–12 and limits adult entries to 100 participants, with heats of five athletes and progressive qualification rounds. Entries include bib distribution, free parking at the Garavello car park, a pasta party at Spazio Garavello 7 and a wooden finisher medal, and CHF 1 from each registration is donated to Fondazione Amilcare. On-site registrations are explicitly not permitted on race day, and the race is organised by Morcote Scal in collaboration with the Comune di Morcote and the Carnevale association.
