Montarcher (42) - Trail of Haut-Forez

The Trail du Haut-Forez (also listed as "Montarcher (42) - Trail du Haut Forez") is a single-day trail running event held on Sunday 21 June 2026, based at La Chapelle-en-Lafaye with start points around Montarcher. It features four nature-focused routes from 10 km to a long Grand Trail of 70 km and showcases Haut-Forez landscapes including the cascade du Creux de l’Oulette and the Volcan de Montpeloux. Organised by Association Les Passe-Partout with local partners, the event offers options for a wide range of abilities and includes children’s races and participant meals. Registration is online only and on-site sign-up is not available.

Races start at staggered times (05:00 for the 70 km, 07:00 for 45 km, 09:00 for 25 km and 10:00 for 10 km) and the routes include substantial elevation gains, notably 3,000 m for the Grand Trail and 2,000 m for the Maratrail.
