Route from Paris to Marseille, France
Marathon des Capables is an inclusive, multi‑day endurance movement that stages an 800 km route from Paris to Marseille over 18 stages. The event brings together able‑bodied and people with disabilities who take part side‑by‑side, with participants able to join a single stage, several stages or the entire parcours. The format is deliberately non‑competitive, with no overall ranking or emphasis on time; the focus is on solidarity, accessibility and shared achievement. The organiser presents the project as a civic and corporate partnership opportunity that highlights accessibility and social responsibility.
The 2026 edition is scheduled from 16 September to 3 October 2026 and includes preparatory activities such as a training rendezvous on 25 March 2026 on Île du Frioul to prepare volunteers and guides. Partners named in event materials include Puma and APF France handicap, who support kit, visibility and accessibility initiatives. Daily logistics are run as 18 inclusive stages with support provisions for participants with reduced mobility, and the event invites solo participants, teams of friends or company groups to join the adventure. Communications emphasise newsletters and updates for stage-by-stage news and practical information.
