Lousberg / Rütscher Straße 175, Aachen
The Lousberglauf (officially "Lousberglauf powered by STAWAG") is a single-evening hill race held on the Lousberg in Aachen that has become a local cult event. The course is a 5,555-metre loop that climbs the Teufelsberg and is described by the organiser as a challenging route with sustained uphill sections and a strong community atmosphere. The event is organised by the Hochschulsportzentrum der RWTH Aachen in cooperation with residents and students of the Rütscher Straße student housing.
The race evening combines competitive sport with a festival-like programme including live music, stage presentations and a costume contest, and concludes with an on-site awards ceremony. Registration is online only and start numbers are issued in advance or on race day from the Otto-Petersen-Haus; net times are recorded for participants. The organiser’s information emphasises safety, fairness and that cancellations or transfers are not permitted, and participants are advised to maintain their own insurance cover.
