Lakeland Trails Ultra takes place on Saturday 11 July 2026, based in Ambleside with a start/finish hub at Rothay Park. The event offers four distances — 100km, 55km, 23km and 14km — across off‑road Lake District trails and is presented by Lakeland Trails. Courses are fully waymarked and marshalled and organisers publish GPX files for entrants to use. The Ambleside weekend is aimed at a broad range of trail runners from shorter scenic routes to full ultra challenge distances.
The longer events are described by the organiser as a true Lake District ultra experience, with the 100km described as an iconic midnight start and the 55km including multiple mountain passes and approximately 7,000 ft of ascent; the 100km and 55km are noted to carry ITRA points. The event village at Rothay Park is presented as a lively finish arena with entertainment, food stalls, trade and retail stands and PA commentary. Sustainability measures are promoted including lift‑sharing advice and optional event merchandise, and the 55km course description references multiple well‑stocked feed stations for competitors.
