KoBoLT is a demanding point‑to‑point ultratrail along the Rheinsteig from Koblenz‑Ehrenbreitstein to Bonn. Covering about 140 km with roughly 4,440 m of ascent, the route follows the blue‑white Rheinsteig markings and rewards experienced runners with rugged singletrack, historic viewpoints and late‑autumn conditions. This private, non‑profit run emphasises self‑reliance, no pacers, strict anti‑littering, and sensible November kit, while still providing essential support at select aid points. Entry is limited and logistics centre on Bonn, where all runners collect their bibs and board the event bus to the start.
Support is deliberately sparse, with only four aid stations offering basic hot food and drinks, plus a single dropbag at VP3 (Erpeler Ley). Clear intermediate cut‑offs keep participants on schedule, and a roving vehicle can assist with withdrawals to the next VP or finish hall. Finishers receive a medal, and the top three women and men are recognised with special prizes at a simple awards gathering. Post‑race facilities at the Jupp‑Gassen‑Halle include drinks, food, showers and resting mats for those finishing or withdrawing.
