Kiel Ostufer, Probstei, Kieler Förde, Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
The Kiel / Probsteier Strohfigurenmarsch (English: Kiel / Probsteier Straw Figure March) is a themed Nord Marsch walking event and a 2026 premiere on the Kiel Ostufer of the Kieler Förde. The route is notable for passing the Probstei communities' annual straw-figure exhibits, with around 19 figures referenced along the course. The event offers three distances—50 km, 30 km and 20 km—with staggered wave starts and a strong community focus that highlights regional scenery and cultural installations.
Logistics include sunrise wave starts for the longest distance and later waves for shorter routes, continuous staffed refreshment points, a start package and finisher items including a medal and finisher drink. The finish area opens a programme from 13:00, all participants are expected to finish by 19:30 and site clearance is scheduled for 20:30. Registration opens 10 December 2025, closes 12 August 2026 (or earlier if capacity is reached), the event has a 1,000 participant cap, and Nordic walkers and dogs are explicitly welcome.
