5K Run/Walk in Downtown Crown Point
Join Race the Region on Saturday, November 8, 2025, for a fun and exciting 5K run/walk through the heart of Crown Point, Indiana. This fall event offers participants a chance to experience a flat, scenic route along beautiful, tree-lined Main Street, perfect for both competitive runners and casual walkers alike.
The 5K route begins in front of the historic Old Sheriff's House and Jail, a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Old Sheriff's House and Jail was once considered one of Indiana's finest and most secure jails. However, on March 3, 1934, the infamous gangster John Dillinger made a daring escape from this very jail, defying its reputation as "escape-proof."
Race Day: November 8, 2025, at 8:30 AM
Early Race Registration (Before 10/27/2025): $25 without a shirt, $30 with a shirt
Registration (After 10/28/2025): $30 without a shirt, $35 with a shirt
Race Day Registration: $35 with a shirt, $40 without a shirt
Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up: November 6th and 7th from 10 AM to 6 PM at Extra Mile Fitness Company, 3400 Calumet Ave, Valparaiso, IN 46383
Race Day Packet Pick-Up and Registration: Opens at 7:30 AM on race day at 226 S Main Street, Crown Point, Indiana
Participants should bring their registration confirmation and any necessary identification.
The race course will remain open for competition for 1 hour and 15 minutes from the official start of the race. After this time, the race competition will conclude and all course support will end.
Custom Finishers Medal, Timing Mats at the starting line and Chip Timing for finish results, Live Results via text and email messaging, Directional Signs for all turns, 5K Awards for Top Overall Male & Female, Top Masters Male & Female, and Top 3 Male and Female in various age groups.
Parking is available in downtown Crown Point. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to secure parking.
