Trabrennbahn Krieau, 1020 Wien (Vienna)
Hoperun 2026 is a charitable running event organised by Kinderkrebshilfe Wien‑NÖ‑Bgld to support krebskranke Kinder (children with cancer). The event takes place on Saturday 26 September 2026 at the Trabrennbahn Krieau in Vienna and centres on a 90‑minute charity run in which participants collect laps on a 1 km circuit. The format emphasises fundraising and community engagement rather than pure competition, with teams and individual entries welcome and special provisions for spontaneous participation without timing. The main sponsor for this edition is BAWAG, and proceeds benefit local paediatric cancer support initiatives.
The 2026 edition introduces dedicated children's races (800 m for 0–7 years and 1,200 m for 8–12 years) alongside the HopeRun main event, and offers team entries of up to four people. Event-day features include live music and family entertainment, warm‑up sessions with the Vienna Vikings cheerleaders, Goodie‑Bag and bib collection across Friday and Saturday, and a medal presentation and tombola after the run. Registration closes on 17 September 2026 (no on‑site registration after that date), although spontaneous running on the day is allowed for those who do not seek an official time. Food and drink are available throughout the day, and the event is presented as family‑friendly and spectator‑friendly with activities for children.
