Start: Reeperbahn, St. Pauli, 20359 Hamburg, Germany
The hella hamburg halbmarathon (Hella Hamburg Half Marathon) is a fast, classic city half marathon that showcases Hamburg at its best. The measured 21.0975 km point-to-point course starts on the Reeperbahn and finishes at the Hamburg Expo / Messegelände, passing around 50 of the city’s famous sights to create a memorable urban running experience.
The event weekend runs across 27–28 June 2026. The main Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 28 June (mass start from 08:30 in waves/blocks) and a children’s Bärenlauf programme is held on Saturday 27 June (children's races starting in the evening). For 2026 the organiser reports over 18,000 participants and registration is open.
Organised by BMS Die Laufgesellschaft mbH, the event offers a festival atmosphere with DJs, live music, samba and drum groups, cheer zones and artists along the route. The organiser emphasises race-day safety and participant services: well-spaced aid stations, official photography, secure bag drop, showers/changing facilities, number collection and race-weekend bib collection at the Messe event centre. Timing is by transponder (a timing fee applies unless you have a BMS‑Chip). The organiser publishes participant lists, course maps and results on the official website and promotes sustainability measures as part of Green Events Hamburg.
The course is officially measured (21.0975 km), mostly flat and fully asphalted. The event carries a World Athletics Road Race Label and AIMS membership. Published finish cutoffs and maximum finish times apply; every finisher receives a commemorative medal at the finish area at Expo Hamburg.
