Crisis Support Services of Alameda County’s Healing Hearts Walk/Run/MOVE! for Suicide Prevention is back at Lake Merritt in Oakland.
This family-friendly event raises awareness for suicide prevention, reduces the stigma associated with depression and living mental health challenges, educates the community about community resources and services, supports local suicide prevention programs, and provides a healing space for people who have lost loved ones to suicide and people who are currently living with suicidal experiences.
The event is located at the Edoff Bandstand at Lake Merritt in Oakland, CA. While there will still be the 5K walk/run around the lake . . . the event is so much more than that. Our vision is to bring the community together and celebrate healing through a diversity of movement activities. Members of our community will lead various kinds of movement including Tai Chi, dance, as well some exciting other movement activities. All physical abilities are welcome.
Schedule: Arrive at 9am for the Health and Wellness Fair Hear our emcee make announcements and many surprises! The 5K fun run starts at 9:30 am.
Building community is most important to us. That is why sign up is free with a suggested donation of $35. We are most excited about you getting your friends and family involved!
Registration does not include a t-shirt. A limited number of t-shirts are available for $35.
Ask family, friends, and colleagues to support your efforts to raise money for an important cause. Make your own individual page or join a team to get started. You can set a goal, customize your page, invite others to join you in fundraising, and more!
Another great way to support Crisis Support Services of Alameda County is to purchase a memorial sign that will be displayed at the site. This can be in memory of a loved one or a shout out to participants.
