This event is meant to showcase the Great Guernsey Trail and will consist of a Half-Marathon, a 10k, a 5k and a Fun Run. This will be a chip timed race with timing services provided by Muskingum Multisports. Proceeds raised at this event will support the Guernsey County Community Development’s (CDC) Great Guernsey Trail and Coal Ridge Park & Trails Development Projects. The CDC built and maintained the 7-mile paved Great Guernsey Trail as well as Coal Ridge Park & Trails. All trails and parks are opened to the public and are free of charge. Funding for the maintenance of the trails and the parks is by donations only. This is a RUNColumbus Affiliated Race.
RACE COURSE
The Half-Marathon, 10k and 5k races and Fun Run are out and back events held entirely on the paved (and flat) Great Guernsey Trail. The route starts in at the Corduroy Rd trailhead and follows the trail to each turn around and then returns to Corduroy Rd. This is a scenic, traffic free route that follows Leatherwood Creek. There will be water at all the turnarounds, first aid stations and finish line, in addition there will be fruit, and water and Gatorade at the half marathon turn around. Free food will be provided at the finish line as well. Time limit for the half-marathon is 4 hours.
AWARDS
Trophies will be issued to the top three Male and Female overall finishers and medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age categories: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ Walkers are welcome! Custom made finisher’s medals (with unique logo) will be awarded to every individual that completes the race, whether running or walking.
EARLY PACKET PICK-UP & RACE DAY REGISTRATION
Race Day registration and packet pick-up will be at the registration building at 63500 Corduroy Rd. Cambridge, Ohio - starting at 6:30 a.m. and ending at 7:45 a.m.
RACE PACKETS & FINISH LINE PERKS
Your race packet will include a T-shirt with race logo, swag and more. All participants register by May 30th are guaranteed a Race T-shirt.
RACE RESULTS
Automatic text and email results will be sent immediately following a participants finish for those that opt-in. Instant results will also be available on site at the Results Kiosks and at the race website.
