The Diagonale des Fous is the flagship race of the Grand Raid de La Réunion and the 34th edition is scheduled within the Grand Raid weekend of 15–18 October 2026. Known in French as the "Diagonale des Fous", the event is an extreme island-crossing trail that starts at Ravine Blanche in Saint-Pierre and finishes at the Stade de la Redoute in Saint-Denis. The 2026 parcours has been significantly revised and the organiser publishes a detailed roadbook, GPX traces and live tracking for competitors and followers.
The 2026 course is described by the organiser as roughly 178–180 km with approximately 10,200 m of ascent and a 66-hour cut-off, and the race retains ITRA certification and WSER qualifier status. Support on course includes multiple aid stations (ravitaillement) plus medical and physiotherapy provision, and finishers receive the customary medal and T‑shirt. Entrants must follow the official registration windows and the draw/lot system managed by the Grand Raid organisation.
