The Goitzsche-Marathon returns to the Goitzsche lake region near Bitterfeld-Wolfen on 3 May 2026 for its 10th edition. The event brings together a programme of races across the scenic Goitzsche landscape, from the full marathon to youth, school and fun runs, with the Bitterfelder Stadthafen serving as the central finish and event hub. The course is largely low-elevation and largely asphalt, offering extensive lakeside views and a relaxed regional atmosphere that highlights local sights and community partners.
Participants can choose from multiple distances and formats including a full marathon, half marathon, 10 km races (running and Nordic walking), relays, corporate and school races plus a Bambini run for the very young. The event provides electronic timing, numerous aid stations, participant facilities such as showers and changing rooms, a finisher medal for many distances, official merchandise and prize money/trophies for top marathon finishers. Organisers offer tiered entry pricing, bib collection the day before and the morning of the races, dedicated shuttle connections to remote starts where needed, and on-site bib pickup; a pre-race noodle party is also organised.
